Making Every Lesson Count
I’m a qualified Piano Instructor offering personalized lessons and instruction to students in the Longmont area. I’ve been teaching beginning to intermediate lessons to people of all ages since 1989 and love what I do.
A Bit About Me
A Patient Piano Instructor. I currently work as a Special Education Para-Educator. I am comfortable with teaching students with disabilities, as well as gifted.
I am passionate about music and teaching it to eager learners. I began playing the piano at eight, which helped me learn other instruments like flute, recorder, tin whistle, tenor saxophone, marimba, guitar, and ukulele. Besides playing instruments, I sing and have performed in several auditioned groups, including a performance with the Colorado Symphony. I also traveled with the Continental Singers, performing across the USA and internationally. My favorite performances were with women's ensembles, HeartStrings and The Three of Us, where we sang various genres. Additionally, I have three years of classroom experience as a music educator.

First lesson is always free!
Our first lesson is a chance to get to know one another and decide if we would like to commit to work with one another before a weekly lesson is scheduled. I want to learn about my student and what your goals are, and vice versa, I will share with you what I have to offer. Lessons are offered weekly in half hour or forty-five minute time slots agreed upon by instructor, student, and parent (if under 18 years old).

Student Testimonials

“We’ve had a wonderful experience with Cheri and I whole-heartedly recommend her. My 3 kids have learned not only how to play piano, but also how to perform in a low stress environment in various venues around town, and how to squeeze in practice when time is tight. If things needed to be postponed, that was ok. If the tempo or notes weren’t perfect, that was ok, too. Piano opened up the self-confidence to pursue band/orchestra in high school. Cheri has taught life lessons that have been ‘instrumental’ for my kids!” Gail
